The body of Senator Daniel Inouye has arrived in the State Capitol where the public can pay its respects all day. He is only the 31st person to lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda, the last person being President Gerald Ford.
“He was an institution unto himself, and he deserves to spend one more day in this institution, to which he dedicated his life’s work,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. Several tributes are planned in Washington for the Senator and war hero, according to the Huffington Post
