Students at UC Davis Conduct Community Screenings for Hep B

doctorMedical & undergraduate students at UC Davis screened about 100 Asian American immigrants in the Sacramento area for Hepatitis B.

The screening are about of a federal grant aimed at eventually screening 1,000 individuals. Screenings were held at the Paul Hom Asian Clinic and the Hmong Women’s Heritage Association.

Asian Americans are about half of all those in the United States diagnosed with Hepatitis B.  Additional screenings will be held over the next 8 months.
