Jessica Sanchez told MTV it’s time to end the streak of boy champions on American Idol.
“Boys have been winning ‘American Idol’ … I mean they’ve been on a winning streak,” she said. “I was hoping to break that streak last year. I think that was the only thing that really brought me down. I was like, ‘Dang! I couldn’t break that streak!’ But I hope a girl wins this year, just to give the girls some pride.”
Her favorite is Candice Glover, a holdover from last year’s contest. “That’s my girl from last year,” she said. “But I hope a girl wins. I’m very excited for them. Yes, girl power!”
