The Houston Rockets are sitting comfortably in the 7th spot in the Western Conference playoff race, 3 1/2 games ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers. Key to their playoff run is Jeremy Lin, according to a blog in the Bleacher Report.
Lin may not be averaging 20 points a game. But he keeps the ship steady and hands the oars to James Harden whenever needed. He’s also capable of scoring, giving the Rockets another potent offensive weapon on a team that averages 106.4 points per game, tops in the NBA.
Rocket coach Kevin McHale talked about Lin’s role in a recent victory over the Utah Jazz:
“I thought that Jeremy made some big hoops coming down the stretch when we needed them. They were really intent on staying with James [Harden] in the second half and really not giving him a lot of room, so Jeremy really broke free.”
The Rockets are hoping to move up to the 6th spot in the Western Conference playoff race. They sit one game behind the Golden State Warriors, who beat the Los Angeles Lakers Monday night, 109-103.
