Frieda Pinto of Slumdog Millionaire Fame and Indian film star Priyanka Chopra(pictured here) have joined other celebrities in the fight against childhood slavery and other injustices against children, reports Asiance.
The two added their voices to the narration of the documentary Girl Rising which debut at the Sundance Film Festival.
Other celebrities who narrated the film included Anne Hathaway, Alicia Keys, Selena Gomez, and Meryl Streep.
“No one is more vulnerable than an uneducated girl, and this film is a wake-up call to world that it’s time to educate girls,” Pinto said in a statement. “Right now, 66 million girls are not in school, and 14 million girls under 18 will be married this year — that’s 38,000 girls married today, and 13 girls married in the last 30 seconds.”
