No one except the perpetrators know for sure, yet speculation has been rampant that Muslim terrorists are behind the Boston Marathon bombing. But according to a blog written for Al Jazeera by Eric Love of the Institute of Social Policy and Understanding, a West Point study shows statistically its more likely a white supremacist is behind the bombing than a Muslim terrorist.
The study from the Combating Terrorism Center at the US Military Academy at West Point shows that Muslim terrorists in the United States have killed 33 people since 9/11. Attacks from white supremacist and other white wing groups are responsible for 200 deaths during that same period.
Love writes: “This rush to judgment is even more disturbing because it leads directly to hate crimes against not only Muslims, but anyone who “looks Muslim”. Many Arab, Muslim, Sikh and South Asian American advocates have already made statements condemning the Boston attack, emphasizing that all Americans are united in shock and grief at times like these.”
