Tony Award-winning playwright’s David Henry Hwang’s Yellow Face was performed back in December on the stage of the East Los Angeles campus. But this was not a normal performance, reported the Los Angeles Times. The actors kept stopping and starting. Cameras caught their every move and facial expression from various angles.
The three week shoot was being captured for the You Tube adaptation of Yellow Face, a play about an Asian American playwright who accidentally cast a white actor to play an Asian role.
The play debut on You Tube this weekend. It is believed to be the first online adaptation of a stage play. It was directed by Jeff Liu and stars Ryan Yu and Christopher Gorman from the USA Network series “Covert Affairs.”
You can watch the play in its entirety on Channel APA.
