Korean Americans and Koreans packed sold out Dodger Stadium Saturday night to see the Korean American baseball match up of the century, reports Donga.com
Choo Shin-soo with the Cincinnati Reds faced off for the first time against sensational Dodger pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu. Ryu is 9-3 with a 3.14 ERA.
Choo is batting .285 with 14 home runs and a on base percentage of .418 from the lead off spot.
It’s estimated that Koreans made up half the crowd at Dodger Stadium Saturday night.
The number of media credentials issued to reporters from Korea numbered 90. But it was truly a muli-cultural affair, according to Donga.com. Koreans, Hispanics, whites and everyone else danced to Psy’s “Gangnam Style” with Psy himself watching from a luxury box. When the scoreboard camera zoomed in on Psy, the rapper went into a brief horse-riding dance.
Choo had no hits in 3 official as bat as Ryu went 7 innings, giving up only 2 hits and one run in a 4-1 Dodger victory.
