A group of four Sikh Americans were told they could not ride the Go Karts at an amusement park in the San Francisco Bay Area because they were wearing patkas, reports Sikh 24.
Employees at Boomers in Livermore told the men it was park policy and handed them a brochure outlining the company guidelines on head gear.
A sign posted at the entrance of Boomers mentions the ban on loose clothing, sandals and long untied hair, but nothing about head gear.
According to Sikh 24, the father tried unsuccessfully to explain the significance and safety of the patka to the park.
United Sikhs hopes to work with park management on this issue and has also launched a petition drive.
