The Taiwan National team has reportedly targeted Jeremy Lin, reports Focus Taiwan.
Taiwanese officials say they will approach Lin with the offer to join the team if Taiwan qualifies for the World Cup.
Lin declined a similar invitation in 2011 citing a knee injury.
A victory tonight in Manilla against South Korea at the FIBA Asia Basketball Championship would secure a spot in the World Cup.
It’s not unusual for professional athletes in the United States to play on international teams. Many basketball plays have done it during the Olympics and baseball players certainly did it during the World Baseball Classic.
Lin, A Taiwanese American born in Los Angeles, will be in Taipei in October with the Houston Rockets for an exhibition game against the Indiana Pacers.
