Two Muslim American teenagers say New York Police officers roughed them up after being asked to leave a park because it was closing, reports the New York Daily News
The two girls say they had left, but the police officers followed them and one grabbed Khalia Wilson, 14, in a choke hold and wrestled her to the ground.
Another officer supposedly threw Lamis Chapman, 12, to the pavement when she protested what was happening to Wilson.
The girls also say the officers ripped off their hijabs, a Muslim head scarf.
A police source told the Daily News “The officers told the kids to leave (the park) when they began acting disorderly,”
Others who came to assist the girls say they were also mistreated by police. You can read more about that in the New York Daily News.
