The Sino-American Friendship Association has been invited to take part in the opening ceremonies of the New Year’s Eve ball drop (photo by Alex Quintano) at New York’s Time Square, reports the Travel Daily News.
Both Chinese and American officials are expected to deliver greetings at 6 pm Eastern time.
This is the first time an aspect of Confucianism and Shandong Culture will be part of the ball drop.
Revelers will receive complimentary red scarves as a symbol of US-Chinese friendship.
