A Las Vegas Filipino American cabbie who turned in $300,000 he found in the back of his taxi is drawing praise from Nevada’s Governor and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
The Inquirer reports both praised Gerardo Gamboa for his honesty and as a example to the community.
“Your action was a wonderful demonstration of citizenship and integrity, and the impact of your story in our community is admired and appreciated,” Sen. Reid wrote in a letter to Gamboa.
Governor Brian Sandoval praised the driver as someone who should be a role model for others.
