Inquirer: @JRCelski, America’s best hope at Olympic short track

JR CelskiJR Celski hopes to take over the throne as the king of short track speed skating.

With Apolo Ohno retired, it’s Celski’s crown to take.

According to the Inquirer, Celski’s mother Sue Sabado, is a Filipina and father, Robert Celski, a Polish American.

He has a large tattoo on his chest combining both the flags of the Philippines and Poland.

“Call me an ‘inclusionist,’ but it makes me happy each time I see J.R. being very proud of his Filipino roots,” Jun Ramirez, a Filipino American sports enthusiast from Queens. “He must have gotten his pride in being a Filipino-American from his mom.”

Now through Sunday, you can win a signed autographed helmet from Celski.

To enter, just follow @TDAmeritrade on Twitter and retweet the tweet about the giveaway, which includes the hashtag #ItAddsUp. Please see the official rules for more details.

You can read about Celski’s quest for the gold and how he was inspired by Ohno in the Inquirer.
