It’s really no surprise, but it’s now official.
The US Olympic Committee has formally approved the US Figure Skating Committee’s nominations for the Sochi games, according to Asiance
That means Mirai Nagasu, the third place finisher at Nationals, will become an alternate and fourth place finisher Ashley Wagner, 15-year old Polina Edmunds and 18-year-old Gracie Gold will represent the United States.
A last minute Twitter and letter writing campaign had hopes to sway the judges into rejecting the nomination and instating Nagasu instead, but it wasn’t meant to be.
