Two suspects in the fatal nightclub beating in Santa Ana of Kim Pham are scheduled to be in court today for their pretrial hearing, reports KPCC.
Candace Marie Brito, 27 and Vanesa Tapia Zavala, 25, both pleaded not guilty to one count of felony murder and are being held on one million dollar bail.
If convicted, they could get 15 years to life in state prison.
Prosecutors say reports that this was a racial incident are wrong. They also say it’s not true that witnesses stood around and did nothing to stop the beating.
Pham was buried in Westminster on Tuesday.
The family posted this statement on the Justice for Kim Pham Facebook page as well as a tribute video to Kim.
