Marvel this Wednesday will give the first Muslim woman ever its own comic book series, reports the Boston Globe.
The new Ms Marvel is 16-year-old Kamala Khan who is replacing the original Ms Marvel, a blue-eyed blonde.
The comic was inspired by Marvel editor Sana Amanat who is Pakistani American.
Kamala will struggle with her identity as a daughter of Muslim immigrants living in New Jersey, perhaps much like Amanat did as a child.
Ms Marvel will be penned by graphic novelist G. Willow Wilson who said she wanted to give Pakistani Americans their own superhero.
