ABC7 Chicago: Family of missing Indian American student announces $15K reward

Pravin VarugheseAccording to the ABC7 Chicago, the family of a missing Indian American college student has announced a $15,000 reward for information about his whereabouts.

Pravin Varughese, a sophomore criminal justice student at Southern Illinois University, was last seen on Feb. 12 after a party in Carbondale City, Illinois.

According to Business Standard, phone records show that Varughese was last heard from when he made a call to a friend in Chicago City at 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 13. Varughese never returned to the off campus room he shares with his cousin and another roommate.

“If people have anything to say… come forward,” said his sister, Priya Varughese. “We just really want him back home and safe.”

Anonymous tips can also be sent through the Carbondale police website.

According to police records, the missing man is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds and has short brown hair and brown eyes. Pravin was unshaven when last seen, and wearing a red shirt with dark blue jeans and purple shoes. He also has a “Fear God” tattoo on his chest.
