Representative Mike Honda (D-San Jose) joined 30 other members of Congress this week voicing their support for temporary protected status for undocumented Filipinos.
The designation would allow them to travel freely between the US and the Philippines to assist with family affected by Typhoon Haiyan.
The status is often granted after natural disasters such as the Haitian earthquake.
TPS would also allow Filipinos to freely work in the US.
Today has been designated a call to action day for TPS, reports
ABS CBN.
Supporters are urged to call the Department of Homeland Security comment line at 202-282-849 to voice your support.
