News stories out of China are linking the murder of a Chinese American businessman near Houston, along with his wife and two children, to a corruption probe in China, the Epoch Times reports.
50 year-old Sun Maoye and his wife and two children were all found dead in their suburban home in Cypress back in January.
Apparently both the World Journal and the Chinese language news website Boxun are linking the murders in Texas to the corruption probe.
The World Journal quoted Wei Shi of Boxun that Sun was involved in some corrupt procurement activities with PetroChina in the United States. He and his family were killed to prevent this information from getting out.
According to the report, several senior executives with PetroChina have also mysteriously died.
It’s unclear in the Epoch Times report how this is connected to a corruption probe in China of former Chinese security official Zhou Yongkang, but Zhou has reportedly had high level positions to the petroleum industry.
