Four Asian American Congressional candidates received the support of Rep Grace Meng (D-NY) this week, reports the American Bazaar.
Indian Americans Upendra Chivukula who’s running in New Jersey’s and Manan Trivedi, a candidate in Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District, met with Meng at a meet and greet along with Korean-origin Roy Cho, who is running for New Jersey’s 5th Congressional District, and Taiwanese American Ted Lieu, who is vying for the 33rd Congressional District in California.
All four candidates are Democrats. All but Cho currently hold office in their respective state legislatures.
Roy is currently on a leave of absence as a mergers and acquisitions and private equity attorney from the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
