Three students fatally stabbed in the apartment of UC Santa Barbara student Elliot Rogers have been identified, reports ABC7/KGO-TV.
All three are from the South Bay area near San Jose.
They have been identified as 20-year-old Cheng Yuan Hong and 19-year-old George Chen – both from San Jose – and 20-year-old Weihan “James” Wang of Fremont.
Friends of Wang said he graduated from Fremont Christian School and was a sophomore majoring in engineering.
Wang along with Hong were both living with Roger and had been planning to move out at the end of the semester.
The three were the first victims of Roger.
According to KPCC, KSBY reported that Roger phoned the sheriff’s department accusing Hong of stealing candles from him. He pled guilty to petty theft.
In rambling writings, Roger detailed how he was planning to murder his roommates. You can read more about that on ABC7/KGO-TV.
