WABC: Chinatown elevator robbery caught on camera

Elevator robbery in NY Chinatown Police have released a surveillance video of a man who followed a woman into a Chinatown elevator and then robbed her, reports WABC.

When I watched the video, it reminded me of a series of robberies that hit East Harlem early last year, targetting Asian Americans.

Hopefully this latest robbery is isolated.

Fortunately the suspect didn’t get away with anything because his victim had nothing of value.

The suspect is described as 20 years old, standing 5-foot-10 and weighing about 150 pounds.

The description is different from the suspect in the robberies last year and police have not made any connections with the earlier incidents. A big difference is the victims in the earlier robberies were beaten.

You can watch the video of the latest robbery in the clip from WABC below.
