The first Filipino American actor to play the Filipino legendary creature Aswang on prime time US TV doesn’t underestimate the significance of his role, reports ABS CBN.
“It’s not often that you get the chance to do something that’s really close to home especially in Hollywood, where a lot of the parts are kind of general-Asian kind of thing, and when it’s specific like that, specifically Filipino, it was great to read the story,” Alain Uy said about his role earlier this year on Grimm.
Uy has had roles on TV’s Parenthood and Sleeper Cell and is also a writer-director who has worked with Pharell Williams.
