Fatima Angeles has been appointed Vice President of the California Wellness Foundation, a key health advocacy organization.
Angeles is a Filipina American. She was previously Cal Wellness’ director of evaluation and organizational learning. As Vice President, she will oversee the organization’s grant-making strategy.
The California Wellness Foundation works to improve the health of the people of California by making grants for health promotion, wellness education and disease prevention. Cal Wellness has awarded 7,338 grants totaling more than $890 million during its existence.
Before joining Cal Wellness, Angeles was a program associate at the Hasbro Children’s Foundation in New York City. She earned her master’s degree in public health from Columbia University and her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in Asian American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
