Legacy of Filipino Flash as Pacquiao’s Heir Apparent Could Be Cemented Tonight

Nonito DonairThe Filipino Flash Nonito Donaire takes on the undefeated Nicholas Walters tonight in HBO’s Main Event.

Donaire has long been regarded at Manny Pacquiao’s heir apparent as the best Filipino fighter. Critics, however, have been saying the Flash has lost some of his edge.

“I think the Jamaican Walters is very tough,” said Michael Rosenthal, of Ring Magazine to ABS CBN.  “And I think Donaire has lost some of his fire.”

“I think it’s 50-50,” said Kieren Mulvaney, of HBO Boxing. “Jamaican is hungry … powerful, but Nonito has experience.”

A victory tonight could go a long way in cementing the Flash’s legacy. You can read about that in Doghouse Boxing.

You can hear from Walters and Donaire in the clip below.
