You’re never too old to lean on mom’s shoulders.
Mirai Nagasu skated horribly Saturday in the Skate America short program in Illinois, placing 10th out of 11 skaters.
USA Today reports the 21-year old turned to mom for support.
“I called my mom, and she yelled at me. I haven’t seen her in a really long time, so it makes me really emotional. I think she snapped me back to reality,” Nagasu said.
Snap back is exactly what Mirai did.
She scored a strong 108.92 in her long program Sunday to rebound and finish in 6th place overall.
Nagasu is also still rebounding from the snub from the US Olympic Committee , which chose Ashley Wagner for the US Olympic team even though Mirai placed ahead of Wagner in Nationals.
