I’ve been hesitant to write about what Kobe Bryant supposedly said to Jeremy Lin, but maybe you should decide.
Did Kobe Bryant really tell Jeremy Lin in the huddle to “get the F**k out of my way?”
That’s what several bloggers seem to think, although I haven’t seen any mainstream media pick up on it.
The comments were supposedly uttered during the closing moments of the Lakers losing effort against the Denver Nuggets. For the record, Bryant took the shot in a clear out and missed, as he’s been doing lately.
Some bloggers have said Kobe directly his comment at Lin, but others have written it was said to everyone in the huddle.
What is known for sure is Kobe has been taking an awful lot of shots and playing “hero ball”, as ESPN puts it.
Some of his teammates have suggested it’s hurting the team.
“Kobe is going to be Kobe, but somehow we’ve gotta find a way to put that ball in the hole with somebody else,” Lakers guard Nick Young said after the loss to the Nuggets.
Bryant has now missed eight consecutive potential game winning or tying shots at the end of games.
“I could have gotten a better shot,” Bryant said, “but that was the shot I’ve practiced my entire career.”
Lin in his Thanksgiving blog alluded to the on court troubles.
“Things have been pretty difficult from a basketball standpoint, but everything else has been everything I can ask for,” he wrote on Thanksgiving.
