New census data out projects the population of Asian Americans by 2050 will grow almost ten percent faster than expected just two years ago, reports Karthick Ramakrishnan in AAPI Voices.
In 2012, the census predicted the population of Asian Americans would jump to 38.4 million in 2050. In December that was revised upwards to 42.1 million.
A look at the graph below shows the projected growth of Asian Americans every decade from 2020 to 2050.
The bar graph on the left represents the projections from 2012. The bar on the right is the most recent projected growth.
