The third issue of Silk, Marvel’s new Asian American superhero featuring Cindy Moon from the Spider-Verse, hit the newsstands this week.
A review by Nadia Siu Van in Hyphen Magazine, describes the new series “as a refreshing read so far, with a balanced amount of humor and seriousness.”
Just as with Peter Parker, Moon was bitten by a radioactive spider which results in her gaining super powers. Sounds great, until you have to deal with it. Moon has trouble controlling her new found power and gets the help of Peter’s old mentor Ezekiel Sims. Moon ends up spending ten years holed up in a bunker while she deals with all this.
She emerges a stronger woman, but is now confused about the world, and lost without her family which has disappeared without a trace.
So what does Van think about Silk after just three issues? You can read her review in Hyphen Magazine.
