Indian American Maya Harris will lead the senior policy adviser team that will set the policy agenda for Hillary Clinton’s run for the presidency, reports India Today.
Harris is the younger sister of California Attorney General Kamala Harris who is running for US Senate.
Maya, 46, is a former senior fellow at the Center for American Progress. She has also been Vice President of Democracy, Rights and Justice at the Ford Foundation.
She is one of at least two Indian Americans who will have the candidate’s ear. Neera Tanden, the current president of Center for American Progress and a longtime adviser, is likely to keep informally advising Clinton.
