Indian American Hetal Vasavada is joining MasterChef as its first vegetarian contestant, reports India West.
Vasavada developed her cooking style while preparing home made food for her fellow Indian students at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.
To blend her American and Indian cultures, Vasavada had been mixing Indian spices into her desserts, like her apple pastry cup with cardamom whipped cream, which she used to qualify for the show.
After this season of MasterChef is over, Vasavada hopes to start her own cookie business and become a recipe consultant for others.
