Indian Express: First Bollywood Star to Get Own Network Show Won’t Lose Her Roots

Priyanka ChopraPriyanka Chopra was quite comfortable dealing with the international press at the  Television Critics Association fall preview.

According to the Indian Express,  she easily charmed the media in attendance.

She’s starring in the new ABC show Quantico as an FBI agent suspected in being part of a terrorist plot.

It has the feel of the classic ABC series The Fugitive.

Her ease in dealing with the media comes from being a former Miss World and one of the biggest names in Bollywood.

She insists she understands the importance of diversity, but is equally emphatic that she be recognized for her acting ability and not what she looks like.

ABC traveled to India to recruit Chopra and sign her to a development deal.

“Soon the entire world will be talking about her.” said ABC Entertainment Chief Paul Lee.
Chopra has tried before to achieve success in the United States, but optimism is high she will achieve that success this time around.

If that happens, she promises her fans that Bollywood will remain in her blood.

You can read about some of her other upcoming projects and what she has done to prepare for this “tough girl” role in the Indian Express.
