Muslim Americans rallied outside Trump Towers on West 57th Street and 5th Avenue to denounce Donald Trump’s comments earlier this month about banning Muslims from entering the US.
Just prior to Sunday’s rally, Muslim Americans from Parkchester Jame Masjik, Inc, an Islamic center in the Bronx, were seen praying in a secured area on the street.
“We are Bangladesh. Muslims are not terrorists. Islam is peace. Isis is not Muslim,” one man said.
Many others also came out to support the “Stop Trump! No to racism unity rally.”
Kim Ortiz, an organizer of NYC Shut It Down said at the rally, “We need to make it very clear that Trump is a Nazi.”
The demonstration started at 2pm and included a march to FOX News headquarters at 4pm. Black Lives Matter, an activist movement was expected to have joined their march.
