The final season of American Idol could very well feature a 20-year old Indian American contestant from Martha’s Vineyard if the early buzz is any indication.
Sonika Vaid earned the praise of judge’s during the audition period.
“That was a perfect performance. I was totally engaged,” said Harry Connick Jr. This was one of the only times this particular season that I saw somebody that can actually win this thing with a voice like that. That’s a pure God given voice.”
Connick’s comments brought tears to Vaid’s eyes who was also complimented by the other two judges, Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban.
“How beautiful that you just let it go too,” added Urban. ” You didn’t stack it with a bunch of clever runs. You just sang.”
“You sang so pretty,” proclaimed Lopez.
