Jeremy Lin didn’t forget his coach after getting his first win as a New Jersey Net in a 103-94 home opening win over the Indiana Pacers.
Lin gave the game ball to coach Kenny Atkinson who secured his first win as a head coach.
It was Atkinson who was with Lin as an assistant coach with the New York Knicks during Linsanity.
The starting point guard resurrected some of that old magic scoring 21 points, securing nine rebounds and dishing out nine assists.
“This is his and he deserves it,” said Lin about Atkinson. “I better not see him play with that ball or whatever. He better get that framed and make sure he knows.”
Atkinson’s eyes welled up as he talked about the moment.
“Pretty special.”
