Weeks of speculation are over.
Mindy Kaling confirmed to Sunday Today that she is pregnant. She told reporter Willie Geist she is “really excited.”
“Yeah, it’s really, it’s so unknown to me,” she said in an interview airing September 10. “I have a lot of control over aspects in my life. This is out of my hands which is kind of a fun feeling.”
In a clip released in advance of the interview airing, Kaling joked that she’ll now be able to criticize the parenting of others with authority.
“My mom was just incredibly fierce and devoted to us. and just loved us and really wanted us to be happy no matter what we did. If I can give that to my child, I’d be so happy.”
According to Scary Mommy, the father is still a mystery.
Who she had a child with, however, is not something she took lightly, reported She Knows.
“I’m not cavalier about who I would have a kid with. But the thing I ask every parent that I really admire, the one comment they all have is that they wish they had kids earlier.”
