The Good Doctor is already working miracles for Daniel Dae Kim.
The actor’s first major project as an executive producer has gotten a full season order from ABC, reports Deadline.
That’s extremely rare after the airing of two episodes. The show based on a Korean drama opened to 5. 5 million viewers in the 18-49 demographic. The following week, when audiences often dwindle after the premiere, The Good Doctor managed to maintain the audience from the previous week.
The full season order means 18 episodes of the drama will air instead of the 13 originally ordered.
The plot evolves around Dr. Shaun Murphy, as played by Freddie Highmore. Murphy must overcome doubt from his colleagues because he lives with autism and savant syndrome.
Tamlyn Tomita co-stars as the chairperson and Vice President of the foundation that controls the hospital.
