In this time when superhero movies are dominating the box office, there’s a show on cable with arguably the best fight scenes on television mixed with mythology, fascinating story lines and even cosplay, and few are talking about it-including its own network.
AMC’s Into the Badlands is now into its third season. It stars Berkeley, CA-born Daniel Wu, one of the few Asian American male leads in all of television.
The choreography is on par with that seen on the big screen. Yet as Tai Gooden in Hypable opines, AMC isn’t giving Into the Badlands the attention it deserves.
The article picks up on a theme started by Wu himself on his own Twitter timeline.
Referring to his own show, Wu tweeted why do you think more people don’t know about it.

When fans wondered aloud why AMC isn’t selling Into the Badlands merchandise or even arranging media appearances or booking its stars onto talk shows, Wu joined them. He bluntly stated “no one has ever asked any of us.”

Then within hours after the Hypable article came out, Wu didn’t hesitate to amplify the article with his fans.

Those who watch the show have been enthusiastic about the season so far. The website TV Series Finale asks fans to rate each episode on a scale of 1 to 10 and fans this season have given it a 9.56.
Yet ratings have declined 55 percent among the 18-49 demographic and 45 percent overall. The show’s future remains unclear. Into the Badlands is AMC’s sixth highest rated show. Everyone of the shows ahead of it, except one (Fear of the Walking Dead) has been renewed.
What do you think? Does Into the Badlands deserve a fourth season. If you haven’t been watching, you can catch up by watching the program digitally on AMC’s website.
