Family, friends and sympathizers rallied in front of a Charlotte couple’s home days after they posted a video of a man harassing them for posting an anti-Trump sign in their front yard, reported Charlotte CL
The sign read F*ck Donald Trump alongside placards that proclaimed “Refugees Welcome Here” and “Black Lives Matter.”
“The Trump administration has allowed White supremacists to feel emboldened and to escalate attacks against our communities,” said Cat Bao Le, who lives in the Charlotte home with Tin Nguyen. Le is also executive director at the Southeast Asian Coalition. “And when I say our community, I mean a lot of the communities that are facing these attacks under this administration and continue to fear for their lives.”
Some 30 people stood behind the couple during a news conference.
On the video, the man who has been dubbed Lawn Sign Larry yells “I’m going to get you, n*gger,” He went on to repeat the N word at least three more times. He is later seen getting back into his pick up truck.
He told the couple he wouldn’t have cared if the sign referred to Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders, who he said he voted for.

According to Heavy, the man’s identity has been rumored on social media, but has not been confirmed.
The website reported that Nguyen is a pro-immigrant activist whose mother grew up in a refugee camp in Malaysia. He is also a member of Charlotte Uprising which has called for ICE to be abolished.
“The signs that we have here is the vision of the community that we believe in. We believe that refugees are welcome here. We elevate Black lives and queer and trans Black lives. We believe in all the immigrants that are in this community, and we do not stand with Trump one bit,” Nguyen told reporters.
