A Vietnam War veteran let his instincts take over after being confronted by a group of carjackers.
WISN reports three teenagers approached Saylee Vang as he was about to go to his car outside his home. One of them pointed a gun at Vang. They demanded he turn over his car keys, but he refused and the teens ran off.
Without thinking, Vang got into his car and chased the suspects. The suspects fired four shots at him.
“Scariest thing would be losing my dad right there. I saw on the video they actually had a gun pointed at him. I’m glad he’s still here though,” said Yimleej Vang to Fox 6. “Very startled but he said he was in the war, Vietnam War. It doesn’t really faze him. He looked at them and said, ‘Today is not my day to go.'”
Saylee served in Laos from 1971 to 1975. Ironically the incident occurred on Memorial Day.
