The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency will decide next Tuesday on whether or not to name Chinatown’s new subway station after the late activist, Rose Pak, KTVU reports.
Pak was a leader for the Chinese community in the city of San Francisco. The San Francisco Chamber of Congress also said that she deserves to be recognized for her efforts to gain transit equity in Chinatown.
However, not everyone is for naming the station after Pak. Some allege that she used her influence for political and financial gain, according to KPIX.
The controversial decision is set to happen on Tuesday at 3 P.M. The station is scheduled to be completed later this year.

RE: San Francisco subway station possibly to be named after Rose Pak: Sadly, the vocal anti-Communist group Falun Gong with members from the suburbs south of San Francisco are opposing this honor for the person most responsible for this subway station. https://digital.olivesoftware.com/Olive/ODN/SanFranciscoChronicle/Default.aspx
