Four people are dead and another critically injured after a murderous spree in New York’s Chinatown early this morning, reports ABC7.
The New York Post reports all four victims are homeless as is the suspect who is under arrest.
Police first found an unconscious homeless man with head trauma on Bowery Street near Doyers. He died at the scene. Paramedics rushed a 49-year-old man to the hospital in critical condition.
Police then discovered three other victims with head injuries nearby. Emergency personnel declared all three dead at the scene.
According to ABC7, at least some of the victims were killed while asleep. Police originally responded to reports of a dispute between two men.
Police arrested a 24-year old suspect about a block from Bowery and Doyers. A source told the Post he was found with a blood covered metal object at a construction site. Police identified the suspect as Rodriguez “Randy” Santos, a man with 14 past arrests.
