San Francisco Police Wednesday announced the arrest of a third suspect in a much publicized beating in San Francisco Chinatown last summer.
KTVU reports police arrested Christopher Jefferson in Stockton and booked him in the San Francisco County Jail. The beating which left one man unconscious for several minutes prompted the installation of more security cameras in Chinatown.
According to CBS5, the suspects are accused of lifting one of the victims up and throwing him to the ground. The second victim tried to stop the robbery and was hit on the head and left momentarily unconscious. The robbery happened on Stockton Street, a busy area in Chinatown lined with grocery stores and banks.
Jefferson faces charges of robbery, assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury, aggravated battery causing serious bodily injury and elder abuse.
Police arrested 19-year-old Dashawn Pierson at his residence in Oakland in October after serving a search warrant. Two months later, police tracked down a second suspect, Akeem Smith of Sacramento.
