Nepalese American Arthur Gunn came in second in 2020 finale of American Idol.
The Wichita resident is originally from the capital of Kathmandu in Nepal. His real name is Dibesh Pokharel, according to Heavy.
Gunn showed a wide range of talent, singing everything from reggae to rock.
Just Sam took first place, yet you wouldn’t know it by Gunn’s reaction. He first paused, reached out his arms to the embraces of his family and danced on the backyard patio.
Gunn sang Have You Ever Seen the Rain from Credence Clearwater Revival for his final performance.
Lionel Richie called him “an absolute star.” Katy Perry said he took “the winning pill” after his finale. Luke Perry said “way to nail it.”
Also competing in the final 5 was Filipino American Francisco Martin of Daly City, CA-a city some consider the Filipino American capitol of the world.
For his top 5 performance, he sang the Harry Styles tune Adore You.
Lionel Ritchie praised his stage presence, Kate Perry said he deserved to be there and Luke Bryan lauded his confidence.
