The cast of Mira Royal Detective is sharing a bit of the Indian American culture with the young viewers of Disney Jr.
The cast released a video talking about what the Indian Festival of Lights means to them.
Kal Penn (voice of Mikku), Utkarsh Ambudkar (voice of Chikku), Aasif Mandvi (voice of Mira’s dad, Sahil), Karen David (voice of Shilpa, Ashima and Rubi), Parvesh Cheena (voice of Manish), Sonal Shah (voice of Poonam) and Leela Ladnier (voice of Mira) all share their thoughts on the cultural celebration, according to the Animation World Network.
The Festival of Lights begins on November 14 and runs for five days. It marks the victory of good over evil. light over darkness.
According to Red Tricycle, Mira Royal Detective is also devoting an upcoming episode to the holiday. In The Great Diwali Mystery, the Diwali celebration is in jeopardy when the oil used to light the lamps goes missing.
Mira goes in search for that oil to save the festival.
The show has also released a separate video on Diwali dance moves.
