A father struck by a hit and run driver while buckling his son into a car seat is in critical condition in San Diego.
Fox 5 reports investigators are looking for the driver of a Saturn VUE which fled the scene after the accident in the parking lot.
San Diego County Crime Stoppers released a brief video of the car speeding off. If you look at the upper portion of the screen, you can see the car drive off as two customers inside a supermarket exit.
Crime Stoppers also released a grainy photo of the suspect’s vehicle and a stock photo of the Saturn VUE.
The incident happened at about 3 pm Sunday at a grocery store near 5900 University Avenue.
Fox 5 reports the police say the suspect’s car has damage to the left turn signal and left front end bumper.
A Go Fund Me page launched by the family has raised nearly 30,000 so far.
The family say Lam has had multiple surgeries and is in a medically induced coma. More surgeries will be necessary.
“Your mind just loses all focus. I see it in the kids; I see it in his wife; I see it in all of our family,” said Lam’s brother, Ben Xavier, to NBC San Diego. “So, you know, the best thing for us to do right now is to rally.”
