Marvel Studios has released a new promotional video that contains never-before-seen footage of Eternals.

The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe installment will be directed by Chloé Zhao. She recently rose to fame after receiving the Academy Award for Best Picture and Academy Award for Best Director with her film Nomadland. She is the first woman of color as well as the second woman overall to receive this award, according to Forbes.

Although the footage for Eternals in the promotional video is brief, it showcases an ensemble cast that includes Angelina Jolie, Kit Harington, Richard Madden, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Ma Dong-seok and Bryan Tyree Henry.

Eternals is based on comics with the same name created by Jack Kirby. The titular Eternals are a group of superpowered beings, according to Collider. Their duty is to defend the Earth from an evil force known as the Deviants. After centuries of fighting the Deviants, the Eternals disbanded and went into hiding. However, after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the Eternals reunite once again in anticipation of the Deviants’ return. This is akin to DC Comics’ New Gods.

Marvel Studios delayed the release of Eternals alongside other “Phase 4” movies because of the coronavirus pandemic. The new release date is set for November 5, 2021.
