If you watched the closing ceremony or the finals in Women’s Volleyball, you may have caught a glimpse of her.
Justine Wong Orantes is the defensive specialist or libero for Team USA, the first to win gold for the United States in indoor volleyball.
They beat Brazil Sunday in Tokyo, sweeping all three sets.
According to Latest in Bollywood, she is Filipino-Chinese with Mexican descent. Her father, Robbie Orantes is a volleyball coach with the Mizuno Long Beach volleyball club, reported Celebstand as well as Long Beach City College, according to Team USA. Her mother is Winnie Wong. Both parents are from the Philippines. Justine is a California native born in Cypress.
She competed for the University of Nebraska until 2018 and also won a gold medal playing in the Volleyball Nation’s League last year in Italy.
