Police say a wedding photographer died at the hands of her ex-husband who apparently turned the gun on himself just as officers knocked on the door.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports investigators believe Raheel Ahmed traveled from his home to Georgia to Sania Khan’s home in Chicago and then shot and killed her.
Police had been alerted by Ahmed’s family that he was missing and had just arrived to Khan’s home when they heard a gunshot.
They entered and found Khan dead with the blood already dried on her face. They then found Ahmed’s body in the bedroom holding a gun and with a suicide note next to him.
“Just speechless,” said Justin Matarrese. “You don’t accept it as being true. It still doesn’t feel true. It feels really unfair.”
Matarrese described Khan to CBS Chicago as “Loving, compassionate, energetic, full of life.”
According to AAJ.TV, Khan had just posted a video on TikTok to speak about divorce and the hardships she faced as a divorcee.
“I help people fall in love with themselves and each other in front of the camera!” Khan wrote on her Instagram bio.
